From time to time, we buy cars that we feel are very interesting with the aim to carry out a full restoration. But, because we are very busy with customer cars at the moment, some cars get pushed to the back. That’s why we offer those cars for sale in there ‘as is’ condition.
One of those cars is this very rare RHD 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air.
The car originated in South Africa and comes with all the relevant paperwork to register it here or anywhere in Europe (UK purchasers will have to pay 5% VAT to register the car in the UK).
The previous owner fitted a 265 V8 engine with power-glide transmission, which he bought in the US, after it was reconditioned with only 8,000 km done since the overhaul.
All parts for this car are readily available or, if needed, we can help sourcing whatever parts you might require.
As can be seen from the pictures, the interior and bodywork are in very good condition – apart from some minor scratches here and there.
However, in our opinion, the engine and gearbox will require a good service and the brakes need to be done as well as some new chrome work on the front/rear bumpers and grill to bring her back to her former glory.
